Pump You UP

Day two with Otto was this morning. Today we did an upper body vorkout. When I tried to tell Otto that my quads were strained and over-vorked, he just smiled and nodded, "I know," and then he picked up weights to begin my next vorkout. No sympathy from the devil. "Ve gonna vork on upper body today. Tomorrow you gonna feel it vhen you try to vash yar har. Dat's vhen you not gonna be able to lift up yar arms."

Great.

I tried to explain that my quads were ripped, torn, possibly damaged forever. But I knew it was useless. He just smiled and while I was experiencing upper body pain he told me that I not gonna experience pain like that again in my legs. I feel it now because I am using my muscles which have been dormant. He told me it would take a lot for me to feel that bad again.

I hope he's right.

As far as my HCG diet is concerned, it's not really working. I have lost about 2-3 lbs, and even tho I'm not hungry most of the time, I miss eating normal meals. It's been great for those times when there has been cake around and I've not wanted any of it. When I forget my drops, the cake calls my name.

I think I'm going to wean myself off the drops and begin a healthy eating routine. Weight Watchers has always been my go-to and I've had a ton of success with it. I have never felt deprived (much) on WW either, at least not with their newest program.

However, I will have to share with you guys my new simple soup recipe. It's so simple I don't need to make a big to-do out of it.

Organic Creamy Cauliflower Soup

One head of ORGANIC cauliflower. 1/2 - 1 box of Pacific Organic Chicken Broth. 1/2 - 1 onion. Maybe 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil. That's it! Saute the onions. If you want to skip the oil completely, boil the onions. I know, sounds gross. But hey, eating healthy is not what we are used to! Then once the onions are fully cooked (whether sauteed or boiled), add the broken up head of cauliflower and boil it. Once it's cooked, just puree it in a blender. Make it as thick or thin as you like. Add salt to taste and any other seasonings. That's it! I get three servings out of it. I eat a bowl of it and my hunger is gone completely. Simple, healthy, quick, easy and delicious!

One nice thing about HCG is that all food tastes so incredible — healthy food that is. I did take a bite of chocolate and it tasted not so great. It seems when you fast, your tastebuds are given a fresh start. I remember a long time ago in high school when I gave up candy bars for a full year. That was my new year's resolution. I did it too! A full year without candy bars. What happened next? When the day came to try a candy bar, they tasted terrible!! To this day, there are only a few candy bars I can eat! Even then, they are not incredible! I mostly avoid all candy bars! It's amazing once you give them up.

Lastly, Happy St. Patty's Day to you! Oliver and I set up a Leprechaun trap. The Leprechaun showed up and played tricks on us: our toilet was turned green. His milk was green (and yummy! Seems the little rascal made it minty and sweet!). The mischievous little rascal found the Elf (Elf on the Shelf) and tied him up and told him to go home, that today was HIS day, not the Elf's! I'm sure Oliver will discover more pranks. He comes back home on Tuesday this week and that gives that silly sprite a little extra time to turn a few things upside down!
