Baby Shower Cookies
Like I said, I cannot stop.
I attended two baby showers last week.
And I went baby-shower-cookie-crazy.
Remember those adorable elephants?
I'm now also in love with cookie cutters.
Especially this elephant. He's captured my heart.
I love him so much, I bought two. My very first copper cookie cutter.
He's so beautiful I want to frame his photo and hang it smack dab in the middle of my kitchen.
Ooooo and these....
I'm also ever-so-slightly obsessed with sugars.
Oh, and I was inspired. Check back tomorrow for more about this spoonful of fun.
Easy enough to make.
But back to the cookies....
Baby cookies to be exact... Ooooo, everyone loooooves babies... Except maybe cats. My cat does not like babies. Or children. Or dogs. Or coons.
Cookies... Check out these teeny tiny flowers! I'm so glad I increased the strength of my reading glasses recently.

This gets my mouth watering. Not to eat, but to decorate.
Lucky me. I have my first order for two dozen baby-themed cookies!
And my calendar is filling up with invitations to baby showers. Suddenly I've become very popular! ;)
Note: Just want to give thanks to Marian of www.sweetopia.net for sharing her awesome talent and expertise with others. She has a tutorial on making elephant cookies.
Again, Andrea, I am just speechless.
ReplyDeleteSo, I went and checked out the cookies on etsy and I have to tell you that I am still much more impressed by your creations.
Perhaps it is the colors you are chosing or how clean and immaculate your presentation looks. Should I ever need cookies for a special event, I will buy them from you. Even without the commercial kitchen license ;)
Best, Jana
Jana, you are sooooo sweet! Thank you! :) I'm not sure if I mentioned that I already was told by a friend who caters part-time that she will contact me if she needs cookies. :) As well, i have my FIRST order this week! :)
DeleteI really only do this for fun. I hear what you said earlier and it seems it would be fun to do this for a living. I am starting a new business which is career-related and the work is coming my way. This should be fairly profitable, with the hourly rate exceeding what I'd make designing cookies.
The other thing is I am (wrongly) comparing myself to really talented people: Sweet Sugarbelle, Sweetopia just to name a few. I really have to go back and credit Sweetopia for the elephant idea. Hers are truly amazing.
Actually, I think I'll go do that right now!
Thank you so much for checking in. I'd LOVE to send you cookies if you ever need them. Maybe I'll have a giveaway! :P
Andrea
Andrea,
ReplyDeleteYour cookies are beautiful !
I'm even more pleased to hear how upbeat and happy you sound. There is nothing better than discovering fun new creative outlets for one's soul.
Hugs,
Diane
Hi Diane,
DeleteThank you... I'm not sure what it is (superpowers? see post from 1/16/2012) but I'm feeling quite good. Deciding to put down the fight and let go did wonders for my soul... and everyone else around me. I was a walking grumbling spitfire. Not anymore. Hopefully these upbeat feelings will last.
Thanks for checking in... :)

Holy CRAP, Andrea - these are awesome!!! Your new career? ;) I can definitely see the graphic designer in you coming out via your cookie designs!
ReplyDeleteHey Lisa, thanks! :) It's a ton of fun. It's good to know that if I ever land in the street, at least I can sell cookies on the street corner for groceries! :P
