James Update

The day prior to his scheduled surgery, James was admitted to the hospital. His hemoglobin was extremely low and he then received a blood transfusion.

He was in good spirits that evening as I had a chance to text with him a bit. And so it was prior to heading into his surgery.

My nephew is wise beyond his years. I'm honored to be someone in his life that he sometimes confides in. {You know, girl-stuff... as if I know anything about relationships anymore! } ;)

Here're two of my favorite photos of James. He's a huntin' man, just like his Paw and his ol' Grandaddy ... ;)

Today James texted me some great stuff I'd like to share. He sent these to me just prior to heading into surgery...

To truly appreciate the sunshine, one must weather the storm.

If you ask God to make you stronger, you must be willing to earn it.

I love you auntie. Everything is going to be alright. :)

Oh man, what an amazing kid... a mature young man! Here I was giving him some comfort, and he ended up comforting me! I have so many people in my life who are role models to me when it comes to raising great children. Crys is one of them.... and here's her update today, late afternoon.

Surgery went well.  Dr decided to do this in 3 steps instead of 2 since James has been so sick. It will just take 3 surgeries. Dr. thought this to be the safest and best in the long-term scheme of things. The next one will be in about 3 months or when fits into James' schedule. All the surgeries will fit into James' schedule.

We just saw him in recovery and will hopefully be in his room in about 1 hour.

THANK you for all those prayers. We have already been blessed with the new doctors and the immediate action they have taken. I already feel he is on the road to recovery.
Tonight he has to deal with pain management. I plan to spend the night ... unfortunately he is not in a private room but that's ok.

They expect him to be in hospital for 3-4 days.

I hope she doesn't mind me sharing this. Thanks for all the prayers! I will keep you posted.
