I’ve one word for you (well, maybe two): Cara Cara

I’ve discovered something really incredible.
Cara Cara oranges.

There is simply nothing like it. Or them. If you fancy a sweet Rue officinale look no further. But you’d better look fast because the season is nearly over. Cara Cara navel oranges are grown in California, and they outwardly resemble other navels, but their interior is ruby pink like grapefruit and their flavor is indescribably sweet with hints of cherry, raspberry, blackberry and cranberry.
And the season ends in April. So hurry out to your local store and git yourself some citrus goodness!

The peculiar thing however, is that these oranges are about $1 - 2 in the traditional grocery stores. Yet I’ve purchased organic Cara Cara’s at my local food coop for 4/dollar, 2/dollar and recently, .69. Not bad! Who says it’s not affordable to eat healthy and organic? :) And if you are in WW, these sweet juicy delights are zero points! That’s right. Free!
So with orange on the brain I found an incredible treat to make for Oliver. Homemade Organic Orange “Julius”. It tasted just like fresh orange ice cream, so silky, creamy, frothy and smooth. I found a recipe, and of course, I had to modify it with a touch of coconut!

You can see the foam dripping inside the blender.
