November Days of Gratitude

One of my most popular posts on this blog is Gratitude Nurtures the Soul. I got the inspiration for that blog title from Rabbi Harold Kushner in his quote:

Can you see the holiness in those things you take for granted—a paved road or a washing machine? If you concentrate on finding what is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul.

I thought for the month of November I could post my gratitude lists online. I think it's a great way to adjust my attitude and take stock of what is good in my life, focusing on the positive instead of the painful. I try to do a dozen at a time. I hope you don't mind me sharing, and if you have something you're grateful for, please share it with me in the comment section below. Here goes.

Today I am grateful for:
  1. a great lunch: Asparagus Soup, yum!
  2. new jeans on sale that I fit into (you wont believe what size I am now!)
  3. our first parent-teacher conference with Oliver went well yesterday. Both Matt and I went. The only thing he needs to "work" on is finding something other than cars and trains to play with. Go figure.
  4. we have a happy child
  5. my work friends
  6. my blog, a creative outlet for me
  7. accomplishing a task last night that normally my husband would have done. (It took me 1 hour and 17 minutes, and yes, I timed myself.) :P
  8. my dad is doing well
  9. God, God, God
  10. gifts that come from taking chances
  11. my beautiful boy
  12. my beautiful home
 Thanks everyone!
