Taking the Browns to the Super Bowl (part deux)
Big boy undies! Yay! I think we might actually be done with diapers.
I bought Oliver some Cars little boy undies. And because I just couldn't tolerate the commercial aspect of this process, I bought him blue boxers as well. I love the boxers. Oliver, of course, prefers Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater instead.
We started later in the day on Friday. We went to Bay Beach Amusement Park for the first part of the day. By the time we got home and Oliver out of the tub, it was 5 - 5:30 pm.
Let me preface this by saying that I am not in any rush to potty train our son. However, he seemed ready. Every morning this summer I let him run around w/o a diaper or pants on. Yep. Half naked with that cute little bum bopping around. He learned quickly to run to his potty chair when he had to go. "Oh oh! I gotta go pee!" and off he'd go. Number 2 presented a little problem at first. But, hey. I have three cats so I'm used to cleaning up messes on our hardwood floors.
However, for the last few weeks, Oliver has made it to his potty in time to take the browns to the super bowl. He's actually quite good at it!
So I thought now is the time to try out the new undies. I explained, "No more diapers today Oliver! You have big boy undies now!" And he seemed to completely understand. Yep. He even repeated after me, "No more diapers." Good. And so it began.

5:50 pm

So Day 1 was really an adventure! The fun part was watching Oliver model his undies in the mirror on my bed as you can see from the pix. Watching him try to check out his backside was incredibly amusing.
Saturday morning went well too. We managed to stay in one pair of undies for most of time. Oliver did great!
On Sunday, there was one little mishap that was not too fun to clean up. But nothing that a washer and a shower couldn't cure. We even ventured out of the house. Luckily I carried a cleaner and towels with me. Nothing like standing in a little puddle at the grocery store. Gross? Maybe. But at least I was prepared.
I think we're done. At this point, we only have diapers on at night and for naps. Otherwise, I think this is it. Would I dare say he's potty trained? Those Cars undies are actually growing on me.
