Basil Garlic Butter and Rosemary Garlic Butter

As if the Cinnamon Honey Butter wasn't enough, I had to make a garlic butter with fresh herbs as well. The photos are the same as here and here so we are sans pictures in this one.

Here's the recipe:

1 lb butter
4-6 chunky cloves of FRESH garlic, minced
1/3 cup chopped FRESH herbs (I used rosemary and basil, separately)
1 T olive oil

Method:

Be sure to use FRESH herbs and garlic or this recipe really wont taste anywhere near as good! Mince the garlic in a garlic press. Sautee in olive oil for just a short moment, maybe about 1 or 2 minutes. Not long, but long enough to smell the garlic fragrance. Do not burn the garlic. If you do happen to burn it, discard it and start over in a fresh pan. Burnt garlic will ruin the taste and over power any other ingredient. Add the sauteed garlic to the butter. Chop the herb of choice. Add to butter. Whip. Whip. Whip. Spread on warm bread. Taste. Adjust recipe with more herbs or garlic. Whip. Whip. Whip. Add to jars. Give to friends and family. YUM!

Tastes even better the next time you open up a jar and spread it onto warm bread. Also makes a GREAT condiment for buffet sandwiches for all those New Year's Eve parties (or NY Day parties) that you will be attending. Great hostess gifts!

Let me know if you tried the recipe out!
