He likes it! Hey Oliver part two

If you are old enough to know this Life cereal commercial, then hopefully you will get the idea that Oliver was just not that into his wonderfully, lovingly prepared pureed organic mush that I whipped up for him. And then, like magic, he began to eat each bite with the kind of enthusiasm that only a 7-month old, marked with neon pea and vibrant carrot war paint, could have.

I had to leave town in order to get him to do it. I came back from my trip to Dallas to watch Oliver scarf down peas, sweet potatoes, apples, pumpkin and more. It was amazing.

Since then he's become quite the connoisseur, devouring apples, pears, peaches, nectarines, bananas, mangoes, grapes, prunes, pumpkin, pumpkin soup, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, asparagus, broccoli, yogurt, bits of bread, and most recently, Alfredo sauce. All of this has been homemade (with the exception of the prunes) and organic. It's amazing, fun and I absolutely love to feed him! I love to cook for him too. So far most of the food has just been simple purees, but I think beginning next week I'll start mixing the veggies and give him some variety.

He can't have few things until he is 1 yr old: berries, honey, bread, cow's milk. He's been vegetarian so far. I'm a little reluctant to feed him meat just yet because emotionally, I'm just not ready for him to be moving into person-hood so quickly. Driving, dating and meat will just have to be put off for a bit yet.
