A full 8 hours of freedom!

Today I hopped in my car and headed out at 9:30 am. I just returned home at 6pm! How fun! This is my life, or rather, this is what my life has been like for the most part: doing what I want, when I want for as long as I want. And shopping too.... Oh how I love to shop especially when I have a reason to.

I first met with my photographer this morning to see the proofs of the session we had last weekend. They turned out pretty nice! I ordered a few and will hopefully have them in the next week or so. I'll post the "safe" ones on this site when I get a chance. I have to say tho, vain as I am, I think my belly looks pretty big, even tho as I said earlier, I've only gained 16 lbs and I'm at 34 weeks.

I then went to Target just to see if this other location was as messy as the last. Oh my. This was Target heaven! Everything was organized and there were lots and lots of things to look at. And to my thrill, the Dwell Studio bedding was there! How fun! I bought a few things, registered for a few others, and then headed out.

I stopped in a beautiful baby boutique as well. Matt gave me a gift certificate to this shop for Christmas, and I nearly spent all of it on only a couple of items! Between the high end design and the affordable design, I now think I like what I've got going on in the crib. I think finally I can design this baby's room! I love when the creative juices flow and the blocks begin to fall away.

We bought a cottage in August of 2006, and I was able to paint and design the rooms just how I wanted to the following spring. If you're interested, you can see the cottage here. That was a fun project, but the creativity pretty much flowed from the get-go on that project. The baby room is much different. I think it's because every thing baby is just so baby. If I had thought of it sooner, I'd have bought some adult bedsheets and had the bedding made for me. It's really ridiculous how "babyish" all the baby stuff is. Even some of the designer stuff is just so baby! Maybe most people think baby rooms need to look like baby rooms and not adult rooms. I mean, I understand that there needs to be toys and stuff in the rooms, but the bedding.... I can't stand the trains, the zoo, the alphabet, the silliness of it all.

When our baby's room is finished, I'll be sure to post a photo or two. I'm sure you'll think it, too, looks quite baby style. I just hope I don't turn into a Stepford mom...
